Leaders Are Readers

It’s been a long time since I did some heavy reading. Well, much reading at all, actually.

In my youth, I read quite a bit. A lot of it was sci-fi and fantasy stuff. Arthur C Clarke, Piers Anthony and the like. Even more recently, I still enjoy books in those genres. I just realize that they don’t bring much to bear on my life.

It’s a habit of mine that every time I read about a book that I might find interesting, I’ll add it to my Half.com Wish List. Over the past couple years, it has continued to fill up, without ever draining. The other day, whilst adding a new tome, I realized that if I was ever going to make some of these wishes come true, I had better get cracking.

The only problem was, I didn’t have the liquid assets to acquire them. So, being the problem solver that I am, I remembered that I had heard of a place that had books for free. A place that would let you keep them long enough to read them, as long as you gave them back in a timely fashion. What a novel concept!

So, it was off to the library! I nabbed a few off the list, and it’s time to start reading.

In case I read something you’re considering, or might find interesting, I hope to make a habit of reviewing the books I read. I’ll even pretend someone will actually read the reviews.
